NAS Surrey Branch AGM 20th May 2025

We held our AGM in Guildford on 21st May, where Christine Malik and Jason Malschuk were re-elected as co-chairs.

Haywood Drake was also re-elected as Treasurer.

Jason summarised activities which this year have included:

  • Crazy Golf
  • Dungeons and Dragons
  • Cinema outing with NAS Family Support Service
  • Two swimming sessions at Guildford Spectrum with NAS Family Support Service
  • Children’s Christmas party
  • Indoor climbing taster in Walton
  • A fascinating talk by Prof Alan Smith of UCL at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory near Dorking.

We hosted talks from guest speakers at our AGM and Parents of Adults Group and have maintained the support groups for parent/carers of children online and in Ashtead, Frensham, Guildford, Reigate and Woking, plus groups for Parents of Adults, Parents of Girls, Spouses and Partners and Parents of children & young people with PDA.

Committee members have participated in external events and meetings run by organisations including Action for Carers, Surrey County Council and the Autism-Friendly Communities project.

Branch membership has grown to well over 4000 members, with over 1000 on our forum.

The co-chairs asked for support from more volunteers.
